Urinary tract
Some cats may be affected by the formation of
crystals in the bladder. Many factors have been
associated with this condition, including sex, age,
environmental conditions, diet and stress. However, for
the majority (60-70%) of these cats the cause is
unknown. The condition is painful and needs
veterinary management. Diets made with high quality
animal protein naturally acidify the urine and, together
with a low magnesium content, can help support
urinary tract health.
Immune system
When kittens are born their immune system is not
fully developed and mum gives them her antibodies
with the special milk she produces in the first 24
hours after birth. This protects the kitten for 1-2
months but, until their own defence is fully
developed, they are quite vulnerable. In later years a
cats immune system progressively declines and they
experience the same vulnerability in their defence
system. In addition to providing complete and
balanced high quality nutrition, it has been shown
that adding antioxidants, such as vitamin E, helps
support the immune system of young and older cats
even further. After all, cats are lifes natural
adventurers and need to be well protected to face
the challenges it brings.
